Basketball is the only constant from my life before #Diabetes. literally Everything else has changed dramatically. a big Part of that is because a lot of things change from the time you're 16 to 27, but there are just some things that the game transcends. attributes i arm myself with in this new life battle with diabetes. I could always escape from the outside world while I was on the court. I loved the feeling

nothing else mattered but leaving your defender, step back jumper

or putting somebody in that book bagggg!(dunked on). Now basketball is literally my escape. I can take my mind away from blood sugar levels/ food restraints and for that hour or so everyone on the court is equal. Nobody is a diabetic or ill, no one cares where they fall on the career ladder, no one is worried about who is most popular or who is more successful. The only thing that matters is the game, of course winning is always great

swish🏀

sweet success.

I got to ride that feeling of euphoria, shit since i was probably 6 years old. That's why I love the game.
