Slowly i see my diet making a transition to the Sebian diet (Dr Sebi💪🏾). Every month that passes my shopping list is shedding items.

I’ve decided to add a spiritual mindful/ conscious aspect to it which led me to the 16:8 ritual. What am i talking about exactly?? Fasting for 16 hours and then only eating within a 8-hour time frame.

Some examples include: only eating from 12PM-8PM, essentially skipping breakfast.
More experienced fasters only eat in a 6-hour window, or even a 4-hour window. I’m still in the test drive phase so I’ll keep my 12PM-8PM eating window. These are the “feasting” and “fasting” parts of your day and the most common form of Intermittent Fasting. It’s also my fasting preference.
Two examples: The top is you skipping breakfast, while the bottom you are skipping dinner:

Before you say it i know!!
“Cliff We have class all week”, “i have to bring the kids to school”, i work overnights” Bro We Have Livessss!”
Always remember🧠 It’s your fast, HENCE your window. You can adjust this window to make it work for your life: * If you start eating at: 7AM, stop eating and start fasting at 3pm * If you start eating at: 11AM, stop eating and start fasting at 7pm * If you start eating at: 2PM, stop eating and start fasting at 10pm * If you start eating at: 6PM, stop eating and start fasting at 2AM. Some people eat in a 4 hour window, others do 6 or 8. Some people do 20 hour fasts or 24 hour fasts. You’ll need to experiment with them, adjust them to work for your lifestyle and goals, and see how your body responds. T.E.D ( Trial Error & Document)
During the “fasting state” (the hours in which your body is not consuming or digesting any food) your body doesn’t have a recent meal to use as energy, so it is more likely to pull from the fat stored in your body as it’s the only energy source readily available. Burning fat = win. Optimal for weight loss

This works for building muscle as well i still manage to get my meals in💪🏾

It promotes stronger insulin sensitivity and increased growth hormone secretion, two keys for weight loss and muscle gain. Insulin increase is a big reason which made me experiment with it being a diabetic. Intermittent fasting helps you create a double whammy for weight loss and building a solid physique. If you eat breakfast every morning, your body is expecting to wake up and eat food, basic muscle memory.

Once you retrain your body to NOT expect food all day every day (or first thing in the morning), these side-effects become less of an issue. In addition, Ghrelin (the hormone mentioned in the previous blog that makes you hungry), is actually lowest in the mornings and decreases after a few hours of not eating too. The hunger pains will naturally pass! Why is it animals wake up and aren’t running for their bacon egg and cheese? We adopted these Western ways and it’s hurting our long term health LONGEVITY.
“But I’ll be hungry all day” “This can’t be healthy”

We found ways to survive during periods of feast and famine in the past you’ll be aight Cam’ron voice🎤

Fasting can be more complex for people who have issues with blood sugar regulation, suffer from hypo/hyperglycemia. If you fit into bracket check with your doctor who is not me.

Always communicate with your team before adjusting your eating schedule
THEY SHOULD ALWAYS STEER YOU IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION

“How will i get over hungry?”

Stay busy. If you are just sitting around thinking about how hungry you are, you’ll be more likely to struggle with this. For that reason, I time my fasting periods for maximum efficiency and minimal discomfort☺️ (T.E.D) LISTEN TO YOUR BODY!! I’d love to hear from you: * What are your questions with intermittent fasting? * What are your concerns? * Have you tried intermittent fasting? * Have you had success with it, either with muscle gain or weight loss?
